This business will serve as the Asia Pacific headquarters as well as the flagship oil and gas consultancy in the region. To continue our growth and success we are now recruiting regional experts to join our top-tier international team in cosmopolitan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
1. GS9: Mechanical Engineers - Piping
(Kuala Lumpur)
Responsibilities:
To be a key communicator between the client and the business groups in line with business initiatives around Asia Pacific region;
You will be part of our global team member in maximising productivity and development;
Your role includes developing expertise and leverage on best practises to ensure technically sound, cost effective engineering advice, and value add to all clients;
To establish working alliances with local Engineering Contractors in our engineering design work and all supporting services;
Hands-on mechanical design to various levels of detail from Conceptual Feasibility Studies to detailed design based on the process designs and conditions delivered by others;
Preparation of the drawings and requisitions, which contain the applicable specifications for the mechanical design items in hand;
Follow up activities, such as quotation reviews, review of contractor/ manufacturer’s documents, troubleshooting during manufacturing stage, attendance of mock-up tests, assistance during installation/ shutdowns;
Preparations and maintenance of departmental design manuals for specific areas;
Advice on general pressure vessels and internals issues, towards internal client,
inter-department, and also project department.
Requirements:
Must have Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines and more than 5 years' experience in Mechanical Engineering, with work for Oil, Chemicals and Gas customers;
Design capability of Pressure Vessels and Internals, piping and preparation of related specifications; Working knowledge of Pressure Vessel Code Calculations and materials selection;
Participates in incident investigations (e.g. Root Cause Analysis (RCA, Tripod) and experienced-based reviews;
Awareness of problem solving techniques to resolve maintenance, design and engineering issues;
Awareness of international Mechanical engineering codes and standards in the Oil, Chemical and Gas Industry including piping, piping systems and piping classes;
Assesses and discusses customer needs. Proposes and executes proper approaches to problem solving and gives advice to customers after consultation with more senior staff;
Regional traveling (approximately 15%-30%) is required;

2. GS9: Planning Engineer
(Kuala Lumpur)
Responsibilities:
Provide Project Engineering Services to our Customers in the Asia Pacific region;
Prime activities are Front-End Development of projects prior to Final Investment Decision to ensure maximum value in attaining World Class Performance in terms of Safety, Cost, Schedule & Operability;
Key liaison between internal business groups and contractors in ensuring technical specification deliverables;
Production of Project Execution Plans;
Work with Projects Group Team to produce Capital Estimates and Schedules;
Implementation of our in-house project management tools (i.e. Risk Management, Value Engineering, Contracting & Procurement strategy, Constructability, Benchmarking, Availability Assurance, etc);
Execute project controls to ensure project is delivered successfully;
Provide ongoing support during Implementation Phase via formalised reviews and ad-hoc support.
Requirements:
You should have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or any relevant discipline, with at least 8 years of working experience in the petrochemical and/or gas industry;
You must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the project team working on front end development;
If you have exposure to operations, maintenance & construction activities, you will be positively considered;
You should have strong project management experience in the following areas:
Planning and execution of project phases (end-2-end) (Front End Engineering Designs);
Coordination of resources;
Development and implemention of QA/QC;
Possess understanding and implemented construction plans, execution and implemention of Flawless Start-ups;
Cost and Schedule - conceptual understanding and usage of project planning tools;
Contracts & Procurement - manage contractors, develop strategy and understanding of bid cycle.
Strong team player with good interpersonal skills;
Excellent communication skills in English. Ability to speak Mandarin will be an added advantage;

Be a member of a team of professional project engineers handling projects worth of USD 5 Mil to USD 500 Mil;
Must have flexibility in travelling - you may be required to multitask on multiple projects as well as contribute to maintenance of the Quality Management System, Department Work Planning, etc;
You will also find yourself working across international/ cultural boundaries.
