Summary of Role :

Provide geophysical appraisal of the exploration area, leading to prospect identification and evaluation.


Qualification :
Bachelor Degree in Geophysics or Geology or Earth Science.
8 to 10 years experience in exploration geophysics, including processing.
Experience with compressional wrench tectonics would be an asset, as would familiarity with geophysical work stations.
Familiarity with a variety of structural settings and ability to work with sparse or incomplete data.
Knowledge of 2D/3D Seismic Interpretation systems and application especially for seismic interpretation and earth modeling.

Responsibilities :


Process, reprocess, interpret, and map seismic data acquisition. The work must be inventive and accurate, employing sound modern techniques.
Monitor costs and supervise contractors. With regard to data acquisition, this requires some field supervision, particularly during the initial stages as the acquisition parameters are being established.
Gather and evaluate data, maintain proper records and prepare reports covering geophysical and related topics.
Prepare prognoses for exploration and development wells.
Assist with the preparation of the budget for geophysical items.
