Experienced Groundwater Modeller – Permanent or Contract (2 year) - Brisbane, Australia
Outline:
To be based in Brisbane, the gateway to Australia’s tropical northeast coast and the Great Barrier Reef. The initial 12 - 18 months would be dedicated to a major catchment-wide water resources study, working as part of a team to develop a robust numerical groundwater model(s). A key study goal is to develop defensible tools to assess the nature and extent of the potential impacts of coal mining and coal seam gas developments (CSG) on catchment water resources. The Modeller would report to the Project Leader and to the Modelling Manager and work closely with the Senior Hydrogeologist and the Data/GIS Manager.

Requirements:
* B.Sc. in Geosciences with M.Sc. in relevant discipline
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in groundwater modelling
* Experience in surface and groundwater interaction assessment and modelling
* Background in site hydrogeological data acquisition, manipulation and analysis
* Strong IT / data management skills, adaptable to using SWS advanced hydrogeological conceptual modelling tool – PETREL
* Excellent presentation, communication and report writing skills (English)
