MTS0026 - GENSUPV MODELING

Qualifications :

Minimum Bachelor of Science in Geology or Geological Engineering; a Masters Degree is preferred and demonstrates the ability to complete large and technically complex projects.
Eight years of practical mining Geology experience, five of which in porphyry systems
In depth knowledge of at least one of the recognised commercial mining software and / or Newmont’s in-house TSS.
Newmont reports resources and reserves under the Canadian Institute of Mining NI 43-101 guidelines. Registered professional membership of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy or recognised other membership where reciprocal resource estimation sign-off is acceptable under the NI 43-101.
Desirabl Skill, Knowledge, Training, and Experience:
Working knowledge of several mining geology related computing and resource modelling software.
Experience in supervising technical professionals and non-technical staff
Work experience ideally includes time spent in mine geology, ore control, exploration geology and in cross-functional technical groups.


Responsibilities :

Comply with all PTNNT Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental requirements as well as those required under the Decree of the Ministry of Mines and Energy Number 555.K/26/M.PE and the Decree of the Ministry of Mines and Energy Number 1211.K/008/M.PE/1995.
Comply with all SHLP, Environment and Social Responsibility requirements under Newmont Asia Pacific Integrated Management System, Newmont vision and values.
Conducts and oversees on-site evaluations of project properties in order to estimate size and tenor of contained ore bodies.
Prepares one or multiple projects for production through organization and completion of drilling, geologic modelling, metallurgy, geotechnical and scheduling programs.
Evaluates all possible gold and copper resource/reserve opportunities within the scope of the project.
Understands detailed and regional deposit geology and uses this base to guide geologic modelling programs.
Organizes, maintains the deposit and regional production geology programs within the scope of the project.
Provides block models to Mine Engineering as a bases of the mine planning and Maintains computer modelling standards
Evaluates block model through the reconciliation process; designs the additional data to update block model annually.
Organizes and prepares annual update of reserve book and is accountable for individual database and modelling programs.
Maintains the most updated models related to geology, geochemical, geotechnical, mining and metallurgy information and data
Develops the mine ore control and core sampling protocol jointly with related groups.
Maintains geological mapping procedures as state-of-the art industry standards.
Maintains computer modelling standards.
Communicates program progress and results to peers and management.
Assists in training and development of staff members.
May be required to travel and assist other domestic and international sites.
