Job Title: Senior Petroleum Engineer

Overview of Position: As a Senior Petroleum Engineer, you will be key to the successful management and execution of Chevron Australia’s future onshore development drilling program. You will provide expert knowledge and project management skills to help achieve key milestones. This is an exciting and varied role that comprises both office and field based activities on Barrow Island off the north-west coast of Western Australia

Position Details:
The successful candidate will:
* Manage resources and associated capital and operating budgets
* Provide technical and operational leadership to colleagues, and coaching and mentoring to other team members
* Successfully project manage a high value development drilling program
* Coordinate a multi-disciplinary team which will include colleagues from Environment, Drilling, Facilities, Logistics, Petroleum Engineering and Earth Science teams
* Provide petroleum engineering technical leadership and workscope
* Provide support to workover operations and coordinate the maturation of subsurface projects

Key skills and experience required:
* Knowledge of petroleum engineering/production software
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* A focus on operational excellence and an incident and injury free environment
* Demonstrable and broad ranging petroleum engineering experience gained from previous experience in a similar role
* Hands on experience in managing large scale, complex drilling projects
* Strong leadership and relationship building skills with the ability to successfully engage and manage cross functional teams

The multi-discipline nature of the project and the number of investments involved will require proven project management experience on large capital projects and excellent communications and team management skills. Past experience managing activities in a remote location is desirable and regular field visits of two to five days duration (1 per month minimum) are required to ensure alignment and good communications are maintained with the field operations team.
