Its subsidiary Esso Australia Pty Ltd is one of Australia's largest oil and gas producers and operates offshore oil and gas fields in Bass Strait and associated processing facilities in Gippsland, including the Longford Plants near Sale. We produce a significant amount of Australia's crude oil requirements and supply natural gas to Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.

The current work roster for these positions is 12 hours per day, 7 days on and 7 days off.

Offshore Instrumentation /Electrical Technicians

Technicians are responsible for fault-finding and maintenance tasks on instrument, electrical and analyzer equipment such as DCS / PLC systems, generators, motor control centres, control valves, field instrumentation and domestic appliances. Applicants will be trade qualified, ideally with a certificate 3 in both instrumentation and electrical trades. Your experience will preferably have been secured in an oil and gas, power generation or similar heavy industry processing facility.


Offshore Operations Technicians

Primary duties include the operation and monitoring of process operations and associated equipment, preparing equipment for maintenance and ensuring compliance with safe work practices. To succeed in these roles you should possess a high degree of mechanical aptitude and sound analytical capabilities. Technical or trade certificates supporting your application will be well regarded.


Offshore Mechanical Maintenance Technicians

Technicians are responsible for the completion of assigned machinery and fixed equipment maintenance tasks, including work on centrifugal pumps, gas turbines, hydraulic systems and high pressure piping. Candidates should be trade qualified diesel / motor mechanics or mechanical fitters experienced in the maintenance of industrial machinery, preferably gained in a heavy industry processing facility.


Platform Services Operators

Responsibilities include remote area first aid, operation of the platform crane to unload cargo from supply vessels, managing platform stores, helicopter logistics, scaffolding, crane dogging, rigging and minor platform maintenance. These roles are suited to service focused individuals with a sound mechanical aptitude, the ability to use general computer applications and a willingness to learn and apply new skills. Qualifications and / or experience in one or more of the areas noted above will be well regarded.
