Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Mechanical - Rotating Engineer in Duri, Indonesia through March 20, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).


Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Serving as Mechanical/Rotating Equipment SME for Heavy Oil Operations Engineering.
Providing expertise in rotating equipment function with focuses on the mechanical design and operation of rotating and reciprocating equipment, e.g. pumps, compressors, mechanical seals, multi-phase pumps, fans, blowers, etc.
Concept development, cost analysis, application, selection, specification, bid analysis, standards preparation and review, inspection, and testing for new installations or upgrades.
Rotating equipment operations and maintenance support can include field commissioning & start-up, troubleshooting, RCA, operating equipment and machinery-reliability programs.
Supporting Base Business initiatives especially related with process safety processes.
Solving unusual or complex problems requiring comprehensive understanding of rotating equipment, integrating understanding of other disciplines, technologies and customer constraints.
Teaching individuals and classes on the use of specialized disciplines related to rotating equipment, for example, compressor and pump design, multi-phase pump applications, or rotating equipment troubleshooting.
Applying broad experience to all aspects of upstream facility projects and onshore operations to ensure safe adequate design & construction of facilities are considered in the long term forecasts.
Managing the interfaces within cross-functional teams including Maintenance, Constructions, Productions Operations, Reservoir Management, OE-HES, and other Assets Support teams as well as with other OUs.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
Corporate medical clearance to obtain an Indonesia work permit.
Experience with fired equipment such as open, enclosed flares and incinerator.
Demonstrated Leadership and results in OE performance.
A proven track record of utilizing OE processes to achieve results in Engineering, Construction, and Contractor Safety.
Knowledge and application of OEMS process and Base Business initiative.
Exhibits strong focus on OE tenets and regularly reinforces safety behaviors of team members in their daily activities and by leading by example.
Strong change agent with the ability to gain buy-in for initiatives.
Ability to make decisions independently and align direction for Company and Contractor personnel.
Ability to lead by example and demonstrate mentoring capability.
Ability to mentor Indonesian National employees.
Strong diversity understanding and teaching ability.
Ability to integrate various disciplines and principles in problem solving and developing effective, comprehensive corrective measures.
Ability to work with multi-discipline teams, including opportunity identifications and early concept development.
Proven ability to effectively and judiciously apply CPDEP tools and best practices.
