We have been retained to recruit a senior and talented Lead facilities engineer to be based in London. Our client is in the early stages of developing Super-Giant oil field discovery with OIP reserves of many billions of barrels. It is projected that the company's resources will continue to increase significantly, as the results of further drilling come in, on both the existing discovery blocks and the prospective adjacent licences within the same trend. As part of the technical team in London you will lead the strategy and conceptual facilities design studies both internally and through managing 3rd party consulting services. You will work on the immediate on-shore facilities needs and the much larger scale conceptual designs as part of a full-field development planning submission required by the end of 2012. * This position is responsible for design, planning, construction oversight and maintenance of surface facilities throughout the Company's on-shore Middle East operations.
* You will lead the concept design studies as part of the full FDP submission
* In addition, other projects may include developing and overseeing mechanical integrity programs, modifications and maintenance on all existing facilities.
Responsibilities:
* Help to prepare handover materials and provide operator training to ensure long term success on new facility installations.
* Provide the associated cost estimates for the facility portions of all projects.
* Work as a team member on a multi-discipline team, in conjunction with geo-science, land, permitting, drilling, facilities, HES, and the operations team.
* As Lead facilities Engineer you will manage the facilities team both internally and external contractors.
* You will participate in the Pre-FEED, FEED and HAZOP studies to ensure that the facilities design selected is technically sound and as per industry practice and standards and unlikely to give rise to future problems in design and/or commissioning and operations
* Communicate progress, problems, needs and success to fellow teammates and management.
* Plan and co-ordinate construction schedules and methods to meet milestones and budgetary limits.
* Trouble shoot, analyze and solve problems as they arise.
* Be self motivated with well developed planning, technical and teamwork is essential.
Required Skills/Experience: Essentials:
* You will have proven success in de-bottlenecking of existing facilities to optimize production whilst participation in feasibility and basic/detail engineering design studies of upstream, downstream and common facilities projects. You must have project experience in both CAPEX and OPEX estimations with sound skill set in Root Cause Analysis
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering: Preferably Mechanical, Process or Chemical with proven experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, including experience in facility/pipeline design and facilities optimization studies.
* 15 years of work experience, with a minimum of ten years intensive experience in the area of Facilities Engineering.
* Experience of the hazards & remedial measures required for the handling/processing/transporting of hydrocarbons varying quality/API with high Sulphur and CO2 content.
* Computer Proficiencies: General computer skills and basic knowledge in word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.
