Operations Specialist
Qualifications
• Academic Qualification to Degree level or equivalent expertise in oil and gas processing.
Skills (and experience)
• Significant knowledge of production, engineering and maintenance management, to be able to manage and contribute to all aspects of Field Operations.
• A sound knowledge of the business drivers affecting CLIENT.
• Strong personal and interpersonal skills with capability to meet the fluctuating needs of Field Operations.
Knowledge
• A minimum of 15 years experience in the upstream Oil and Gas industry, ideally with 5 years + in a supervisory / management capacity.
• A minimum of 5 years experience associated with hydrocarbon production and offshore production facilities in a supervisory / management capacity.
The role
• The Operations Specialist, based within the Production Operations department, will ensure CLIENT s objectives regarding safety, operability, deliverability and maintainability (SODM) are achieved, within Project time and cost parameters, in transitioning the project from facilities development to full production status.
• The incumbent will also act as the key interface between the Production Operations department and the Project Development group, ensuring that Production requirements are properly addressed, and that any Project information requirements are promptly met. Key relationships to be managed will include those with senior Production and Project group department staff, and several external contractors/sub-contractors.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the CLIENT production (familiarisation / pre-commissioning support) team at the construction site.
• Assist the project commissioning manager in the operational readiness of the Platform.
• Oversee the production of all operations and maintenance manuals by the Contractor relating to the operation the facility.
• Work as part of an integrated Contractor/Client commissioning team during the run up to Mechanical Acceptance of the platform.
• Work as part of an integrated Project / Production commissioning team to commission and performance test the facilities prior to hand over to the Production Group.
• Review all other philosophies for SODM as part of multi discipline checks.
• Participate in Project Safety Reviews including (but not limited to) HAZID s, HAZOP s, Risk assessments, SIL analysis.
• Assist in contractor s development of start up and O&M manuals.
• Participate as necessary in critical vendor inspections (or arrange inspections by QA / QC group).
• Assist in Production Familiarisation / Commissioning Support Team efforts at site, and help as required in the approval of site queries (none engineering).
• Assist in vessel closure inspections and major witness points.
• Work as part of an integrated Contractor / Client pre-commissioning team at site and at as the Client s Acceptance Authority.
• Assist in the implementation of the Drilling – Facilities SIMOPS and Production SIMOPS manual.
• Work as part of an integrated Project / Production commissioning team to commission and performance test the facilities prior to hand over to the Production Group.
