The Exploration & Production business began in Asia Pacific over a century ago, back in the 1890s, when the first wells were drilled by Shell in Sumatra and Borneo. Recent discoveries in Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam provide an aggressive expansion to our portfolio in the region.

Shell Exploration & Production Asia Pacific operates in seven countries - Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Philippines, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.

Well Operation Engineer

Location: Miri, Malaysia


Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of experience in Well Engineering with in-depth knowledge of well design, well programming & well construction;
Knowledge of Well Planning software, directional drilling and horizontal well operations;
Proven abilities in offshore oilfield operations;
Experiences in new technology are preferred;
Proven project/team/man management skills;
Proven track record in delivering result in a challenging environment;
Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Leadership and the ability to prioritize HSE over Delivery of Operational targets will form an important criteria in the selection process;
Fluency in spoken and written English is essential for this position.


Responsibilities:
Manage the rig operations from the Miri office and ensure that all objectives are achievable within the agreed time and budget;
Accountable to deliver all programmes that are required to run the rig;
Provide support and information to the rig site Drilling Supervisor on drilling, completion, work over, production testing, abandonment and all matters related to the operations of a rig;
Monitor costs on a daily basis, maintain and control the availability and quality of the services and equipment provided under the Contracts;
Support changes in the operations outlined in the well programme when required in order to achieve the well objectives;
Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and the Global standards;
Manage the definition and specification of all permanent well drilling & completion equipment for Exploration & Production Asia (EPA) operations.
