Technician (Brighton)
We are seeking an individual to join our Brighton office as a Technician. This hands-on role will involve carrying-out a wide variety of different field works, primarily drilling dynamic (windowless) sampler boreholes and probes, but also conducting field tests (such as CBR testing, BRE365 soakage tests, etc.) and monitoring (taking gas and groundwater readings). There will be an opportunity to be involved with our laboratory and general sample management.
Experience is desired but not necessarily essential given the specialist nature of the job. Those with experience in any of the following areas might be well suited: agricultural work, ground work, piling or underpinning, plant maintenance, etc. Any previous education or interest in geology or physical geography would be useful. Full training will be given, including an NVQ in Land Drilling. It is essential that applicants have a full driving licence, ideally with towing endorsement. The position is physically demanding, and you should be in good health and fitness.
Essential qualities are: a willingness to start early and occasionally work away from home, an attention to detail and commitment to quality, an ability to follow instructions and plan ahead, and good leadership and communication skills. Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be given, including an NVQ in Land Drilling.
Applicants should send a full CV with a brief covering email to jobs@landscience.co.uk.
A starting package from £24K to £30K will be offered to a suitable candidate, depending on experience.
