EXTERNAL RELATIONS MANAGER (REF: 491441)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate for this challenging and high profile position will have a tertiary qualification in Communications, External Relations or related discipline and significant experience in the External Relations area within a multinational company setting. You will also display a sound understanding of the communities of Eastern Indonesia. Fluent communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia are essential along with excellent report writing.


POSITION SYNOPSIS

This pivotal role will be responsible for managing Pearl Project reputation including managing an integrated corporate image. You are to ensure that messages about the project achieve consistency prior to being delivered to any external sources, such as media, government, community groups or NGOs. You will contribute public relations expertise to the efficacy and efficiency of text published for external consumption; as well as to assume responsibility for planning, developing and implementing strategies for press releases, corporate communications and events; and develop a communication strategy built on ensuring that the right people know the right things where the implementation of this strategy needs to be aligned with BHPB code of business of conduct. This position is also to maintain and develop influential relations with key opinion makers as well as monitor opinions, views and progress of our major contractors, suppliers and consultants in respect of their dealing with the government and communities.



This is a Jakarta based position with frequent travel to site.
