This position is part of the newly set-up Tangguh LNG Sales Operation and Shipping Group. The Assistant LNG Marine Superintendent will be responsible for assisting the LNG Marine Superintendent with the management of the day to day operation and marine activities of the LNG vessels.

Assistant LNG Marine Superintendent
(Jakarta Raya - Jakarta)

Requirements:
Minimum 5 years shipping experience, including recent operational tanker experience in a senior capacity as a Deck Officer (LNG preferred)
Familiarity with Safety Management Systems and industry best practice
Minimum Deck Officer Class 2 Certificate of Competency or degree in marine related discipline
Experience of working with different cultures
Previous shore experience in similar role advantageous
Computer literate
Fluent in oral and written English

Responsibilities:
Understudy all aspects of the LNG Marine Superintendents position
Assisting in development of Standard Operations & Ship Technical operating policy and procedures
Monitor operating standards on board to Chatterers’ requirements
Monitor vessel performance including customer feedback, Ship Inspection Report Program (SIRE), Port State Control findings and optimization
Assist with investigating any incidents/near misses/trends
Keep abreast of changes to legislation, developments in technology and industry best practice
Provide 24 hour emergency cover/response as necessary
Assist with the preparation for all Nautical service contracts
Assist with maintaining Shipyard supervision, visits and inspections on a regular basis
Assist sales operations team with scheduling as required
Analyzing all Marine and Safety Information from Classification societies, International Maritime Organization, Flag and Port state Authorities and Industry groups
Reviewing International Ship Management /Safety Management System procedures on board the Tangguh Fleet and Office
Assist with chartering in and out LNG vessels
