Requirements:
* Minimum ten (10) years combination experience in law enforcement (or related government/military security related service), and related private security work
* Associates Degree or Bachelors degree preferred
* Pass extensive background check
* Experience in assessing security conditions
* Experience with multiple site security plans and procedures
* Knowledge of security operations in Facilities
* Trusted to handle sensitive information and security related communications
* Knowledge of relevant legislation/regulations
* Experience working with contractors in HSE environment
* Knowledge of facilities is an asset
* Excellent communication skills (written, oral)
* Conflict resolution skills
* Team player, ability to work with many different people with potentially competing agendas
* Conceptual and strategic thinker
* Works with little or no direct supervision
* Effective conduit for communication between different members of the project
* Understands Project Schedules

Responsibilities:
* The Advisor, Security will work with the Asset Manager, Site Security Focal Points, Facilities Manager, Team Lead, Projects, Business Units and other support teams to support tasks in this portfolio which are listed (but not limited to) below:
* Initial emergency company contact with respect to Security
* Planning for Security in the context of business plans, reviews and audits
* Preparation for Security Risk Assessments
* Detailing action plans with peers and business units (pertaining to buildings and security related components)
* Provide expertise on relevant government statutes, building codes and other legislation, in particular the Privacy Act as it pertains to Security
* Communication, clarification and education
* Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation plans
* Active role in promoting safe work practices and Security in general
* Liaison to Shell Real Estate Security and external agencies (such as local police and government agencies), including any changes to traffic patterns around Shell facilities
* Also may require being part of several security council to continuously improve security for our staff and visitors
* Provide direction and guidance for reception/guard detail as required
* Monitor and analyze third party security invoices to ensure consistency with contract
* Manage budget pertaining to third party security
* Incident investigation and management, as necessary
* Provide leadership with regards to and perform Security Vulnerability Assessments (SVA)
* Comprehensive knowledge of security systems and video monitoring systems; includes covert equipment and placement
* Developing and monitoring standardized contract security procedures across sites
* Assist in coordinating Facility Security coverage for Board and CEO Information Meetings locally
* Ensure consistency of application of Shell Global Security Standards as they relate to Upstream America assets
* Maintain awareness of local security risks and ensure appropriate countermeasures are applied
