SENIOR DRILLING SUPERVISOR
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. DRILLING :
Supervise the execution of drilling and associate services, completion and workover activities.
Supervise the drilling associate services and other contractors to ensure all work performed conform to safety, quality and highest value requirements and in accordance with the well programmed.
Responsible for day-to-day optimization of activities and provision of first line action and problem solving in case of unexpected events.
Provide sufficient, accurate and timely data to office based Well Delivery Team members.
Co-ordinate the timely supply of required equipment, consumables and specialist services to ensure uninterrupted continuation of operations.
In order to broaden his experience and develop his communication skills, he may be assigned to high profile drilling activities such as HPHT and or Deep Well Exploration Drilling.
2. HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT (HSE):
Ensure full Well-site compliance with the Company HSE policies and standards.
Conduct relevant HSE-Critical activities.
Ensure all personnel are fully conversant with, and strictly adhere to, their responsibilities as detailed in the Safety Case for the respective installation.
Set a clear leadership example and promotes a high degree of HSE awareness among subordinates.
Review effectiveness of Rig HSE systems by inspection and audit.
Reviews effectiveness of rig HSE communication by line inspection.
Co-ordinate activities on the Rig affecting HSE matters.
Ensure all non-routine hazardous work is performed under the permit to work (PTW) system.
Ensure all near miss incidents and incidents resulting in injury or damage to assets, equipment or the environment are reported and that assigned incidents and near miss events are investigated, reported and documented.
3. EMERGENCY RESPONSE:
Co-ordinate the Company’s response at the Site and as On-Scene Representative to assists the Drilling & Other Services in his function as On-Scene Commander in dealing with an emergency.
Is fully conversant with Company Emergency Response Procedures and ensures the rig and Other Services is fully prepared for an emergency.
Test Rig site emergency preparedness at regular intervals.
4. PERSONNEL:
Promote an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect amongst all personnel at Rig site.
Provide active support to all Drilling & Services Personnel in their development efforts.
Train new Well-site Drilling Personnel in their prime roles and responsibilities, in particular logistics management, filing and reporting.
5. REPORTING OF DAILY OPERATIONS:
Report directly to the Oil Company Representative’s and Company Team but functionally reports to the Company IPM Project Manager & Senior Drilling Engineer on all matters pertaining to the conduct of operations at the Well-site in accordance with the requirements of the Well Engineering Manual.
Input and verifies the accuracy of Well Information System daily drilling reports.
Responsible for processing end of well reports, as per Well Engineering Manual standards, for Drilling & Completion wells.
6. CONTRACT MANAGEMENT:
Assist the IPM Project Manager for the implementation of all relevant contracts and their variations.
Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of Drilling & Others Service Quality.
Inform IPM Project Manager of all service provision deficiencies and contractor non-compliance.
7. MANAGEMENT OF COSTS:
Responsible for the daily expenditure and reporting using cost reporting facility.
Calculate the cost of services execution based on the job execution record and contract rates.
Responsible controlling the equipment rental time and personnel on board by the timely and efficient transfer of materials and personnel to and from the rig.
Has full authority for call out of equipment and personnel.
8. CLOSE OUT, REPORTING & PERFORMANCE MONITORING:
Provide data, assists in the preparation of, and conducts well review presentations.
Ensure well file is kept up to date.
Provide recommendations for improvement of the WIS and cost reporting system, the accounts guide/coding system and drilling rig/drilling service contracts.
Assist in longer term operational decision making, performs cost benefit analysis on all programmed operational steps to ensure cost efficient operation, and suggests alternative procedures when appropriate cost benefits are perceived.
JOB SCOPE :
The Drilling Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day on Site planning and execution of well drilling and other Services, completion and work over activities.
Maintaining maximum Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and operational efficiency.
Responsible for implementation of all the company's policies, procedures and guidelines on drilling and other Services operations, safety and environmental protection.
Representative on Site and is responsible for first line response and problem solving of non planned operations.
Provides guidance and advice to Oil Company representative’s and Company’s field Engineer’s and takes an active role in their training and development.
